Hormonal acne after coming off the pill. Cystic chin breakouts that arrive with your period. Adult acne at 35 that won't go away no matter how clean the skincare routine.
The surface is the symptom. The cause is inside.
Why does my skin keep breaking out at 35?
Adult-onset acne in your thirties is almost always androgens, gut, oestrogen clearance or insulin — usually two of those at once. Topical treatments treat the appearance; they don't treat the trigger. That's why the breakouts return as soon as you stop. Lasting clearance usually requires addressing what's driving the inflammation upstream.
What we test
DUTCH for full hormone metabolism (oestrogen + clearance pathways, androgens including DHT, progesterone, and the cortisol curve), fasting insulin and HbA1c, comprehensive bloods including inflammation, and an OAT for gut markers. Most clients see meaningful skin clearance inside 8–12 weeks once the driver is addressed.
