Meet Rebecca.

The clinician you'll sit across from

Rebecca provides holistic nutrition support and functional testing to help clients develop targeted, transformative and sustainable strategies for long-term health. She has over a decade of experience across clinical, hospital and high-performance sport settings, working with women who've already tried a lot and want the next step to actually hold.

She supports clients through gut dysfunction, burn-out, hormonal imbalance and metabolic health challenges, with an evidence-based, whole-person approach. Rebecca is known for her grounded, practical style and her ability to translate complex physiology into realistic health goals you can actually reach.

She'll read your labs against the life you're actually living, not the one a textbook assumes.

Brisbane is home, but Rebecca's also called France, Japan and Papua New Guinea home over the years. She's raising four humans and one Bearded Collie, Donovan, who firmly believes he's the fifth child. Motherhood and child development aren't just interests, they're her full-time, unpaid passion project. You'll most often find her at the beach or outdoors with her husband and the little crew. A runner at heart, currently in a complicated relationship with finding the time to run.

The Roadmap behind the practice.

Keriann · BHSc Clinical Nutrition · ANTA Member

How It Heals exists because Keriann spent more than half her life looking for an answer that wasn't on the page. Chronic acne, anxiety, fertility issues, fatigue, brain fog, and the labs always came back normal. Eventually she was diagnosed with CIRS, chronic inflammatory response syndrome, brought on by long-term mould exposure. Real, but not the whole picture.

Even when she looked "conventionally healthy and fit," her body was contending with environmental toxins, disordered eating, excessive stress and an inflammatory diet, on top of a stack of genetic predispositions nobody had ever named.

After regaining her full health, she built The Root Cause Roadmap — the methodology this practice now runs on. It's a way of looking at a body, listening to a body, and ordering the right tests in the right order, so the picture finally connects.

Keriann's role today is the architect's role. She designs the method, trains the team that practises it, and stays close to the complex cases that need her. The day-to-day clinical relationship is Rebecca's. The Roadmap that shapes it is hers.

The toolkit

What we use, and why.

A wide range of testing and therapy methods. The point isn't the tool, it's the question the tool answers. We choose the panel against your symptom pattern, not a default protocol.

No. 01

Functional lab analysis

Advanced panels read at optimal functional ranges, not the wide "not sick" reference ranges that lead to years of dismissed symptoms. Organic Acids, EndoMAP, Thyroid Extensive, HTMA, methylation.

No. 02

Genetic & epigenetic integration

92 genes, 113 SNPs layered with lab results and clinical presentation. MTHFR, hormone metabolism, detox pathways. We build a protocol that works with your biology, not against it.

No. 03

Whole-food therapeutic nutrition

Food as medicine, but the right food for the right body at the right time. Nutritional protocols are derived from lab results and built around real-food principles, not supplement stacks.

No. 04

Food environment work

Telehealth pantry and fridge audits, label literacy, automated sourcing from local farmers. Clean eating becomes infrastructure, not willpower. In-person where geography allows.

No. 05

Systems-based clinical thinking

Gut dysbiosis drives hormone imbalance. Thyroid dysfunction suppresses metabolism. Mineral depletion disrupts cortisol. Every case is mapped as one interconnected biological story.

No. 06

Data-driven protocol design

Every recommendation anchored in objective data, not intuition or trending protocols. Lab markers, genetic variants, mineral ratios, hormone metabolites. Retested as we go.

No. 07

Clinical supplementation, to rebuild not depend

Practitioner-only supplements at therapeutic doses, used strategically and temporarily. The endgame is a body that thrives without ongoing herbs or adaptogens. Not for life, just for now.

No. 08

Nervous-system & vagal support

Trans-vagal stimulation, biomechanics and HRV-informed care for a dysregulated autonomic state. "Meditate more" doesn't shift it. The right physical work does.

Working together

What an example protocol looks like.

Five phases. Each one earns the next. We don't move forward until the previous step has actually shifted something.

  1. Initial

Identify the systems that are suffering.

Your first session with Rebecca maps your full history, your symptom pattern and the body systems that are clearly overloaded. We name what's likely driving each, and what we still need to find out.

  2. Testing

    Find what we don't know.

Once we know which systems to interrogate, we choose the right functional tests, DNA, HTMA, EndoMAP, microbiome, organic acids. Targeted, not scattershot. The panel is built for your case.

  3. Therapy

    Mineral, detox, vagal, supplementation.

This is where the work happens. Mineral replacement, advanced detoxification, vagal stimulation and targeted supplementation, sequenced so the body can actually keep up.

  4. Support

Some people feel worse before they feel better.

Healing isn't always linear. Ongoing support, dose adjustments, rapid review windows and clear flagging of what's normal versus what isn't. This is what stops people quitting at week six.

  5. Change

    Long-term, it's education.

The version of you that comes out the other side knows your body. A supported nervous system, a stabilised metabolism, and the literacy to make decisions long after this protocol ends.
